Associazione Amici del “Centro Dino Ferrari”: Charity Event at Unicredit Pavillion

On the 11th November in the brand new Unicredit Pavilion, in the heart of Porta Nuova, the liveliest area of Milan, the Associazione Amici del “Centro Dino Ferrari” hosted a Charity Event in support of scientific research in the field of neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases conducted at the “Centro Dino Ferrari” at the University of Milan.

Welcomed by president of the association Marialuisa Trussardi, vice presidents Manuela Consensi Dini and Camillo Olivetti, and director of the “Centro Dino Ferrari” Prof. Nereo Bresolin, the 250 guests showed their commitment to supporting scientific research in the field of neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases and in particular the projects “Identifying genetic risk factors to prevent Alzheimer disease” and “Protocols of gene therapy using adeno-associated vectors for recessive neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases in early childhood.”

The evening, sponsored by Trussardi, the Pellegrini Group and Illulian, was attended by a number of illustrious guests, including Sergio Dompé, Vittorio Feltri, Luigi Abete, Gaia Trussardi, Michelle Hunziker, Paola Caovilla, Carlo Capasa and Stefania Rocca, Juanita Sabbadini, Rosanna Armani, Andrea Camerana, Marta Marzotto, Giuliana Dompé, Bedy Moratti, Giorgio Schön, Guglielmo and Claudia Maisto, Carla Tolomeo, Giorgia Pacelli, Adriano and Laura Teso, Stefano and Riccarda Contini, Antonella Boralevi, Alberto Cordero di Montezemolo, Elena Zambon, Antonella Boralevi, Bob Krieger, Alessandro Boniperti  and more.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of two special awards from the “Dino Ferrari Centre” to two protagonists of EXPO 2015: former Mayor Letizia Moratti, “for managing Milan with a look to the future and for having given EXPO 2015 to the city, an event we are all very proud of” and Chief Commissioner of Expo 2015 Giuseppe Sala, “for his excellent management of EXPO 2015, the pride of all of Italy.”

The event afforded excellent entertainment in the form of music and cabaret, directed by Titti Quaggia and Mario Lavezzi. In addition to Luisa Corna, who both presented and sang, Alexia and Marco Della Noce performed to great applause as did the spectacular Katherine Dance Company.

Over the course of the evening guests had the opportunity to demonstrate their generosity by taking part in a special charity auction, organised by the specialist portal CharityStars, selling prizes kindly donated by Carla Tolomeo and the Contini Art Gallery, Ferrari Auto, Rossocorsa, Marta Marzotto, Pucci, Fendi, Trussardi, Bob Krieger, Image Institute on behalf of Giovanni Gastel, Stefanini Argenteria, the Oro dei Farlocchi – Milan and Alessandro Boniperti, who offered a real collector’s item: a shirt belonging to his father Giampiero, dating to 1955.
