Christmas in Monaco

The Principality of Monaco, enveloped by the magic of Christmas. Monaco’s winter festivities are just around the corner, and an abundance of events is poised to enliven the most glamorous destination on the Cote d’Azur. Until 7 January 2018, nearly 1,000 decorations, including pearls and crystals, will adorn the city’s elegant neighbourhoods with light and colour. But in the iconic Place du Casino, the beating heart of Monte Carlo, the Christmas magic will be nothing short of sublime. Light installations will echo the world of gambling, from the façade of the Casino, with its bright tokens, to the Pavilions Monte-Carlo, where a giant carpet of playing cards will wind through the fashionable shopping promenades, passing by the fountain, transformed into a giant snow globe by symbols from table games, surrounded by giant dice strewn here and there. And, once again, the Christmas trees covered by delicate golden trimmings will be back, twinkling with hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades. Between one Christmas shopping trip and the next, why not be welcomed by one of the famous hotels of the Principality? Refinement, taste and wellbeing are in no shortage, and the city’s major hotels all share these three cardinal virtues, such as the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo. A bastion of timeless elegance, it offers its clientele some of the most fashionable locales in Monaco, from the SPA by Givenchy to a restaurant by a chef with countless Michelin stars to his name, Joël Robuchon.
