We are delighted to announce that the American School of Milan will be holding its Second Annual Community Gala on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 7:00-11:00 pm at the prestigious Palazzo Parigi Hotel in Milan. Excellence Magazine is proud to be media sponsor for the event. Building on the success of last year’s gala, this evening promises to be a fantastic networking opportunity and a special evening to celebrate the ASM’s community and sponsors. The gala will support the ASM Fund for Excellence (FFE), a programme designed to bring the extraordinary to the school. This fund is bringing enriching programmes, speakers and equipment to ASM students each year to inspire them and offer them real-world opportunities. Some recent examples include children’s author/illustrator, Nicoletta Costa; Holocaust survivor Liliana Segre; economist/author, Dr. Charles Wheelan and the purchase of an incubator for the science laboratories. Founded in 1962, the ASM is unique as a non-profit association that has dedicated itself tirelessly to the pursuit of international teaching and learning. The ASM philosophy is geared towards enabling students to “Become More” in whichever path they choose. As a non-profit association, the school relies on fundraising to sustain their important mission – that’s why the gala will include a silent and live auction with an expected 300 participants, composed of prominent business and community leaders, as well as ASM families and friends.
If we are to go on last year’s event, the evening is set to be a roaring success. Held in the Four Seasons Milano, scores of guests came together to celebrate 55 years of the school. Guest of honour of the evening, Consul General Ambassador Philip T. Reeker was present to celebrate this important milestone. Superbly hosted by Edoardo Stoppa and Juliana Moreira, the event was illuminated by a delectable dinner, musical interludes and a charity auction for the Fund for Excellence. Money raised at the auction will be put towards quality projects in schools: the fund currently supports over 30 initiatives that have piqued the interest of well-known representatives from the scientific and literary worlds. Ms Maureen O. Madden, director of the ASM, reiterated how the fund offers extraordinary opportunities to students and that this evening, the first Community Gala, represents a unique opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of innovative learning. In anticipation of next year’s event, Excellence Magazine had the privilege and honour of being media partner at this special gala evening, alongside prestigious sponsors such as Banca Mediolanum, helping this exceptional charity fundraiser be a success.
