Outdoor decor, mountain style

Category:

For this winter, Ethimo is proposing an exclusive selection of furniture designed to enhance the most sophisticated outdoor mountain spaces. Transform the terrace of a chalet or a high altitude resort into an “open air lounge”, where design and comfort combine to welcome guests, evoking that pleasant indoor warmth, outside. Nuanced lines, new finishes and soft fabrics characterise Ethimo’s proposal for the cold season. The Allaperto collection – designed for Ethimo by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez and presented at the Salone del Mobile 2017 – in its Mountain version offers clean, refined profiles with contemporary appeal. Natural and pickled teak combine with innovative fabrics in warm tones. The comfort of the seats is enhanced by original accessories in wool, cashmere and fur, with stylish velvet detailing. For the winter season, Ethimo is also proposing to revisit some of its most iconic collections. Pickled teak, in its brand new, warm and elegant Chocolate finish, treated to withstand the toughest temperatures and preserve its natural beauty over time, is the motif which runs throughout the new mountain-inspired mood. The stylish Costes lounge set, the iconic Elle deckchair, the simple Elìt lounger, the Notting Hill bench, the Cruise chaise longue and the small Clay table are all available in this new colour option. An exclusive colouring of the precious wood that accompanies the new Prestige fabrics. Inspired by the weaves and materiality of the textures used in interior design, but all specifically designed for outdoor use. Dedar Pool Ebano, Dedar Plaid Beige and the new Espresso acrylic make Ethimo furniture a true winter season ‘must have’.

Allaperto
Born from a collaboration between Ethimo, Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, this is the outdoor collection which in its Mountain version offers ‘bespoke’ design elements for enjoying magical mountain scenery in maximum warmth and comfort. The various furnishings that make up the collection – sofa, lounge chair, coffee table and sunbed – combine teak, natural and pickled, Etwick fibre and Ethimo’s new Espresso acrylic fabric. Further enhanced by a wide range of accessories with a resounding winter vibe. Wool, cashmere, fur and velvet detailing create a pleasant feeling of comfort, further enriched by the option to wrap some items in the collection in a soft, enveloping “sleeping bag”.

Costes
Ethimo’s elegant outdoor lounge set is now available in the new Chocolate pickled teak finish for the winter season. A surface brushing treatment enhances the grain and quality of the teak, while the dark colour creates a new mood, especially ideal for outdoor and indoor mountain settings. The Chocolate pickled finish is embellished by soft melange weaves, velvet, technical fabrics with geometric patterns and classic tartan designs for a warm ambience.

Elle and Elìt
The iconic Elle deckchair and the Elìt lounger are now available in a new ‘look’. The frame, always in natural or pickled teak, is now available in the new, sophisticated Chocolate pickled teak finish, with a choice of Dedar Pool Ebano or Dedar Plaid Beige fabrics. This new version transforms two summer furniture classics par excellence into a perfect complement to enhance terraces and winter gardens, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery.

Notting Hill
With the new Chocolate finish, Ethimo’s timeless bench, whose name is reminiscent of charming English gardens, is enriched with new meaning, transformed into the ideal seating option for a small and intimate oasis of relaxation, nestled in the mountains.

Cruise and Clay
The Cruise chaise longue, with its adjustable backrest and brass detailing, and the handy Clay small table, are ‘tinged’ Chocolate too, creating a feminine, contemporary allure.

Vintage Playroom Ideas Perfect for your Little Hipster

Nowadays playrooms are incredibly boring. It’s a harsh truth. It’s all a myriad of white, with white, with a few splashes of colour, with white again. We’re not saying there aren’t good designs out there, we’re just stating the fact that most of the times it gets buried deep under the beautiful madness that is design on the web. But good design, above everything else, doesn’t have to be or to feel modern, per se.  If you happen to be raising a little hipster (which is totally cool, hipsters are incredible trendsetters) or happen to be one yourself, we believe you’ll enjoy these designs as much as we do.

Inside Belmond Hotel Caruso Amalfi

Once I read that if the landscape of human emotion was to exist in a country, it would be Italy. And I honestly couldn’t agree more. I have been overlooking the breath-taking view of a magical suite, onto the unreal scenery that is the Amalfi coast. I am left speechless, and not just today. But in the ‘right here and right now’ of every time I visit the Italian coast. And get lost in admiring it in all its beauty. And felt the implacable urge share this sublimity with others. So here’s my homage and reportage for today: Inside the Belmond Hotel Caruso in Ravello.
