Villa Menotti – Puglisi: the dream grand a of palazzo owning

We are in the north of Italy, about 50 minutes from Milan and 5 minutes to ponte Tresa in Switzerland. On the outskirts of a small historic village above the Swiss border town and with panoramic views of the romantic hill and lake landscape of Lombardy is this amazing grand palazzo situated in an historical park of 8,500 sq.m.

The important Villa in Liberty and Art Deco style has beautiful sub-tropical gardens. Formerly, due to the mild climate, that is also pleasant in summer, these kinds of villas were the summer residences of the nobility of Milan. The period Villa lies on the edge of the historic centre of the village, in a prominent position above the village with distant views as far as the monte Brè in Lugano. Imbedded in park-like grounds, with centuries-old mature trees such as copper beeches, palms, cypresses, holly, magnolias, rhododendrons, camellias, hydrangeas, roses, the park has furthermore a boccia court and a small romantic pond.

This palazzo d’Epoca with it’s 1,200 sq.m is listed in a publication about villas in the province of Varese and described as a significant building in Liberty style. It comprises 2 grand storeys with high ceilings and numerous historic frescoes and fireplaces, a large attic with library, and a basement with daylight. All four levels are connected with one another via a lift and via spacious open staircases. The Bel Étage, ground floor, has an entrance area with impressive pillars made of pink porphyry from cuasso and impressive granite staircase. It offers a large living area, several rooms with wide treble-arched windows, an office, a conference room and a guestroom with bathroom. Where else the second floor comprise the modern kitchen, dining room, hall, living room, studio and two bed- rooms with bathroom. The attic, currently a library, can be an independent apartment with kitchen, 2 bathrooms and bedrooms and a rooftop terrace.

The impressive villa has been highly professionally refurbished during the past decades. A modern kitchen, contemporary bathrooms and an elevator where perfectly integrated in the historic ambience. The attic in the roof was extended in a modern, architectural style and is flooded with light. This property is ideal for living or business, or a combination of both.
