Each spring, the luxury brand Chanel updates its watch collections with a number of new timepieces. The new modern watch releases mark the start of a notable horological chapter: each of these timepieces with a unique design and sophisticated details point to the future of contemporary fine-watch design.

It’s a beautiful piece of mechanical engineering that features an openwork movement at the back that is handsomely designed. Also, this Chanel timepiece brings a much-needed soupçon of humor, a cheeky flash of glamour, and a witty inversion of the gold carriage clock design, traditionally presented to frazzled business executives on their retirement.

As a classic symbol of the contemporary design that Chanel is bringing to 21st-century women’s watch design, this timepiece highlights the futuristic feel of the bracelet watch with a diamond-set code motif.

Produced in a limited editionof 12, the X-Ray is a near-impossible feat of engineering, made almost entirely of sapphire crystal, excepting the buckle, white-gold bezel, and diamond dial-markers. The modern watchdial is milled from sapphire crystal, set with baguette-diamond hour markers. An authentic craftsmanship masterpiece by Chanel!
