As a photographic subject, Dylan was the best. It was enough to point the lens at him and things simply happened. We had a good relationship and he was willing to try anything
Jerry Schatzberg
Presented at the Feltrinelli bookshop in Milan the first book that brings together the iconic shots of Schatzberg made to Bob Dylan, at the height of his career: studio portraits, photographs in the recording room, rarities, concerts.

In 1965, Jerry Schatzberg, already well established through his work with magazines, met a young Bob Dylan who was at the height of his fame.

Dylan invited the photographer to the studio where he was recording an album that would become Highway 61 Revisited, which included Like a Rolling Stone, a song that would have won the top spot in the “Rolling Stone” ranking of the five hundred greatest hits of all time.
Schatzberg’s photographs capture Dylan during one of the most crucial moments in the history of music and include footage of what would probably become his biggest album, Blonde on Blonde.

Essential and timeless images, which not only stand the test of time, but have also become visually synonymous with one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. Dylan has sold over one hundred million records and is one of the best-selling artists of all time.
He has received numerous awards including eleven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award.

He was featured in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The 2008 Pulitzer Prize jury gave him a special mention for “his profound impact on popular music and American culture, characterized by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power”.

In May 2012 Dylan received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama. In 2016 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature “for creating new poetic expressions within the great American musical tradition”.
