As a reference in the modern design world, we bring to you some of the most creative works made by Zaha Hadid: take a step inside the first ME by Meliá hotel in Dubai, a boundary-breaking architectural masterpiece located in The Opus, one of the most highly anticipated buildings of 2020.
This contemporary hotel was the final hotel project by Zaha Hadid and is a fabulous representation of its designer’s work: a futuristic architectural style property where exterior and interior spaces reinvent the balance between solid and void.
According to Stefan Viard, General Manager of ME Dubai:
this was the first hotel that Hadid had ever designed from A to Z. After her death, Zaha Hadid Architects was very involved in making sure that everything was perfect, in order to preserve her legacy
The boutique hotel has 93 modern bedrooms and officially opened to the public during the month of March. Its curves, sharp angles, and bold colors used in lighting and furniture design, help for an utter statement design that does the wonders of those that lay eyes in it.
Even simple areas such as the lobby and reception are absolutely wonderful, filled with marvelous and unique elements that gloriously, give a very luxurious and artsy aesthetic. Zaha Hadid‘s antagonistic geometric designs are characterized by a sense of fragmentation, instability, and movement.
ME Dubai has three luxury restaurants – including the Paul Bishop-designed Central – and there are a further 15 dining options in The Opus including the recently opened Japanese restaurant Roka, which has an award-winning flagship in London.
