The splendid green glass used for the new facade of the Bulgari boutique in Shanghai comes from the used champagne bottles.
MVRDV: this is the studio that signed the project; the brand had already collaborated on the creation of the Bangkok store.
The inspiration for this scenic and enchanting jade-colored window comes directly from Italy.
More precisely from the Bulgari shop in Via Condotti, one of the most famous and exclusive fashion streets in Rome.
Luxury and sustainability for the new Bulgari project
A mix of innovation and sustainability: this is the principle that inspired the creation of the beautiful window.
The elements that distinguish the exclusive jewelry brand are all there: Art Decò brass frames that frame the doors and entrances to the street.
If the visual element is consistent with the elements of the brand, for the Shanghai boutique it is not a question of windows or doors but of laminated recycled glass panels.
The color of the glass derived from champagne bottles is not accidental: the green is reminiscent of jade, one of the most precious and appreciated stones in China.
The gold-colored brass finishes and details give the final touch: the glass window looks precious and the boutique a real jewel.
Recycled glass and Bulgari’s green project
MVRDV has created the glass window of the Bulgari boutique in Shanghai thanks to panels of green recycled glass, compressed and recovered from bottles of champagne but also of wine and beer.
The jewel-like appearance of the entrance to this store seems to be a jewel also thanks to the skilful study of the backlighting, created using LED lights.
The façade project is nothing more than the prologue to a much more ambitious goal.
In fact, Bulgari, always in collaboration with the MVRDV studio, has declared that it aims to create entire showrooms and boutiques made with 100% materials deriving from circular and sustainable economy processes.
