Dolomiti Gourmet Festival 2023

Dolomiti GourmetFestival

10th edition of chef Chris Oberhammer’s food festival.

10th edition for the Dolomiti Gourmet Festival, the gastronomic festival conceived by chef Chris Oberhammer, patron of the Michelin-starred Tilia Restaurant in Toblach, included in the MONS Tour 2023 project as the last stop. A culinary journey that also became an opportunity for Italian and international chefs and small producers from Südtirol to meet and talk.

Friendship, Dialogue, Sharing, Food and Nature are the key elements of this edition. I wanted chef friends from France, Austria and Italy around me to send a strong message around the theme of a “local and sustainable food and wine culture” in the sense of enhancing true agri-food excellence. We as cooks have a duty to discover, know and tell, through our cooking, the products of the area in which we live and work in order to give value to the work of small farmers and make those who sit at our tables understand what it means to “do ethical and sustainable cooking.” these are the words of chef Chris Oberhammer.

A rich program of events, in the three-day Dolomiti Gourmet Festival.

Among the guest chefs the two Michelin-starred Stefano Buron – Le Chabichou – Courchevel and the other Michelin stars Alessandro Gilmozzi – El Molin – Cavalese, Graziano Prest – Tivoli Ristorante – Cortina D’Ampezzo, Chris Oberhammer – Tilia Restaurant – Dobbiaco, Mickael Mezaine – La Passerella – Paris, Beppe Aversa – Il Buco – Sorrento and many others.
Also on the program was the MONS excursion with visits to farmers around Toblach to learn about the “daily life of farmers” by tasting their products at Trenker – Waldruhe, Taschler – Trogerhof, Kahn – Weberhof, and Baur – Klaudehof farms.

The evening event at Hotel UNION in Toblach with cocktail bar and DJ closed the day. The following day at 6 p.m., the first “Gastronomic SAFARI” was held with five stops at project partner facilities with food&wine tastings and dishes cooked by guest chefs at the Festival. On Sunday, Oct. 8th, a grand closing event enlivened the Haunold Innichen mountain resort, as well as a farmers’ market at the “Riese Haunold Hütte” in Innichen where each participating chef created a dish with a themed product.

Thus chef Chris Oberhammer reported on the 2023 edition of the Dolomiti Gourmet Festival.: “With this elaborate and attractive program we hope to increase the gastronomic value of Toblach and the 3 Zinnen Dolomites Region with the goal of attracting even more attention to the area. We are very proud of our Region and with the expansion to Innichen and the 3 Zinnen Region we are establishing new cooperative ties“.
