Settled in the foothills of Cortona, Italy lies Villa Passerini filled with a romance and ambiance that will be etched in the memories of all guests for years to come. On July 4th, 2017 Giacomo Capacci Arabians welcomed over 300 guests to the European Summer Sale with true Italian hospitality. Guests were greeted by smiling faces and directed to their tables located on the lawns and looking up to magnificent renaissance residence. Soon the sun set, the lights came up and the show began. Fifteen lots were magically presented to the crowd along with a few special guest stallions to represent their offspring in the sale. The excitement grew and Greg Knowles the auctioneer bounced from table to table accepting bids and selling these magnificent horses to Arabian horse enthusiasts from all ends of the earth. Horses were sold throughout Europe, an embryo to the lucky winning bidder in the USA and lots sold through the middle east. Each of the winning bidders was graciously congratulated by the GCA staff with a bottle of champagne and great excitement.

To add even more excitement to the night a few special appearances were made by some of the most famous stallions today. First was World Champion Kahil Al Shaqab who marched onto the stage with great pride, after some time in the United States the crowd was quite excited to see him back on European soil. Kahil was there supporting his two daughters in the sale. Following Kahil was Naseem Al Rashediah, there representing Tresor Manaya, a beautiful mare presented for sale in the auction and in foal to Naseem. After his silver win just days earlier in Menton the crowd was delighted to see him once more. Last but for sure not last was two-time World Champion EKS Alihandro. The crowd quickly jumped to their feet and gasped with excitement.  From the back of the event all that could be seen was the smiling faces of the guests and their cell phones in the air as they all wanted to capture that moment on their phones to reminisce at a later time. As always Alihandro put on quite a show, his Arabian charisma and masculinity truly captivates anyone in his presence! He demonstrated to those in the crowd and watching online exactly what they could purchase with the final lot – and embryo right resulting in a full sibling to EKS Alihandro. It was quite evident that his presence was equally as magical over the live feed because that embryo was purchased quickly by a wonderful couple watching from the comfort of their home in Scottsdale, Arizona USA.  A wonderful finale to a night that will not be soon forgotten!

The night concluded, the guests left with a wonderful memory as well the excitement looking forward to Giacomo Capacci’s next sale and the horses graciously went onto their new homes. The beauty of the event carries on as we watch the success of these horses continue on in both the show ring and the breeding barns of their new owners.
