A new artistic journey from the July 4-9.
Monaco Art Week, organized under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, celebrates its 5th edition from the July 4-9, 2023, offering a new artistic journey in the Principality of Monaco. Monaco Art Week is at the heart of a particularly busy cultural week this year. Running in parallel with the art monte-carlo international fair (8th and 9th July), it coincides with the opening of the major summer exhibition « Monet in Full Light » at the Grimaldi Forum (from 8th July) and will close at the time of the «F(ê)aites de ladanse», during which the Ballets de Monte-Carlo will take over the Place du Casino for 24 hours of performance (8 and 9 July). Galleries and auction houses gather for the occasion around exhibitions and cultural events, offering a varied programme of modern art, contemporary art, design and high jewellery creations.
Monaco Art Week
Monaco Art Week 2023 features 15 exhibitions and brings together 16 members: Artcurial, Boghossian, Christie’s, G&M Design Gallery, Hauser & Wirth, HOFA, Kamil Art Gallery, Lebreton, Elisabeth Lillo-Renner, M.-F. Toninelli Art Moderne, Opera Gallery, Galerie Adriano Ribolzi, Sotheby’s, Teos Gallery Monte-Carlo, Wannenes Art Contact, and Ward Moretti at Moretti Fine Art. A real art tour will sparkle up the street of Monaco.
Artcurial
Artcurial, for the first time in the Principality, presents a private Monegasque collection of the most emblematic pieces of transalpine design, including historical design pieces represented by the best architects and designers such as Gio Ponti, Gino Sarfatti, Fausto Melotti, Gabriella Crespi, or the Campana Brothers. Artcurial is once again taking over the gardens and palaces of the Principality with a new itinerary bringing together carefully selected sculptures by iconic artists of the 20th and 21st centuries such as François-Xavier Lalanne, Balthasar Labo, Wang Keping, Arman, César, Philippe Hiquily and Allen Jones.
Boghossian
Boghossian presents its latest collection of jewelry pieces evoking the tranquil waters and clear skies of a blue summer. The collection features an array of stunning stones, which have been handpicked for their unique color, texture, quality and meticulously set using innovative techniques that are the hallmark of the Maison Boghossian.
G&M Design Gallery
G&M Design Gallery presents portraits by the world-renowned photographer David Bailey. The selection not only includes his most iconic celebrity portrait photographs, but also offers a unique insight into his paintings.
Hauser & Wirth
This exhibition pairs John Chamberlain’s early poetry with his sculptural series Gondolas and Tonks from the 1980s, epitomizing the artist’s poetic approach to materials and scale. Chamberlain’s poetry will be shown publicly for the first time, illuminating a sensitive and little-known aspect of his practice produced at Black Mountain College in the 1950s.
HOFA
Presented by HOFA at YellowKorner Monte Carlo, Irish artist Mary Ronayne elevates comedy, wit and fun, with brightly coloured works celebrating the fluidity of time, identity and Life. Kamil Art Gallery presents for the first time in Monaco the artist Olga Sinclair, pioneer of Panamanian abstract expressionist painting, with a solo exhibition unveiling her most recent works. Lebreton the exhibition presents works by artists who worked on the French Riviera in the second half of the 20th century, with a selection of ceramics, sculptures and prints by Pablo Picasso, Suzanne Ramié – Madoura, Roger Capron, Jean Derval, Jean Cocteau amongst others.
Elisabeth Lillo-Renner
Elisabeth Lillo-Renner unveils some unique pieces in collaboration with Martin Spreng and Margherita Burgener. A selection of jewellery in tribute to nature where the colorful titanium meets the precious stones as flowers blooming from the woods.
M.-F. Toninelli Art Moderne
M.-F. Toninelli Art Moderne Monaco offers an inimitable collection of rare sculptures by Jean Arp, Constantin Brancusi, Giorgio De Chirico, Jean Ipousteguy, Asger Jorn, Jacques Lipchitz, Giacomo Manzú, Marino Marini.
Opera Gallery
For its major exhibition of the year, Opera Gallery will show a selection of paintings by outstanding masters of Modern and Contemporary periods. May be admired works by Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger, Pablo Picasso, Yayoi Kusama, Fernando Botero or Manolo Valdès, among others.
Galerie Adriano Ribolzi
Adriano Ribolzi Gallery presents Jane Gemayel’s latest creations, including the series inspired by the work of Rodin. She explores the sculptor’s lines to tell a new story that highlights women and sensuality.
Sotheby’s
Following the success of the private selling Lalanne exhibition last year, Sotheby’s Monaco presents its blockbuster summer private selling exhibition, showcasing a carefully sourced selection of desirable art and luxury.
Teos Gallery Monte-Carlo
Teos Gallery presents a solo exhibition by the German artist-photographer Axel Crieger, whose photo montages are inspired by celebrities and the luxury goods industry.
Ward Moretti at Moretti Fine Art
Ward Moretti in collaboration with Moretti Fine Art brings to Monaco for the first time an exceptional selection of impressionist works by great masters such as Pierre Bonnard, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro and Édouard Vuillard.
