Rava Foundation’s first event in Monaco, at the Yacht Club

An evening for environmental and social sustainability projects.

The exclusive charity dance and gala dinner organized by the Francesca Rava FoundationNPH Italia ETS under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in the presence of Giulio Alaimo, Ambassador of Italy to Monaco, was held on September 20th in the splendid setting of the Monaco Yacht Club.

The Foundation has presented over twenty years of work on behalf of children and adolescents in Italy, Haiti and around the world and presented the excellence of Italian cuisine and design during an evening dedicated to environmental and social sustainability, values underlying all of the Foundation’s projects aimed at achieving the sustainable development goals outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) Agenda 2030.

An exclusive event attended by more than 350 friends and components of the Monegasque, French, Italian and international communities and many young volunteers, many of which students from the international school of Monaco, who also enthusiastically participated in Francesca Rava Foundation volunteer camps in Italy and in NPH Houses in Latin America. At the event there was also Martina Colombari, a volunteer and ambassador for the Francesca Rava Foundation.

On this occasion, prestigious companies such as CMB Monaco, KPMG, the Foundation’s historical partner also for the auditing of financial statements, and BANOR SIM SPA, which has always been close to the Foundation in major events and empowerment projects dedicated to young people, have chosen to support the Foundation. At the event also Cristian Trio, an entrepreneur in the real estate sector, founder of the Dyanema brand, which specializes in real estate flipping operations and has always been at the forefront of the Francesca Rava Foundation’s humanitarian projects. Vhernier has made available a reprint of the “Vhernier for the Children of Haiti” Pirouette ring: each piece will help donate a life-saving surgery for a child hospitalized at the NPH Saint Damien hospital built and supported by the Foundation.

Among the evening’s partners The Two Victories, an Italian manufacturer of balsamic vinegar, while the excellence of the Italian design was represented by Armani Home and by Kartell, who edited the staging and lighting and which auctioned off a unique piece, as well as from Alessi, Fornasetti e Roberta e Basta, who supported the evening donating exclusive pieces of their collections.

Brunello Cucinelli, offered a unique experience to be lived in the charming village of Solomeo, thanks to a visit to the enchanting place and the cashmere company that has become, over time, a symbol of craftsmanship excellence.

The city of Venice was the focus of IFEXPERIENCE‘s donation, which for the occasion offered an exclusive visit to some of the lagoon city’s most fascinating sites, usually closed to the public, in the company of an art history expert.

Guests were welcomed at sunset with a welcome drink on the atmospheric Yacht Club deck, made even more magical by the layout by Armani Casa, with a tasting of Nero Lifestyle’s excellent Champagnes, including Cuvée Croisade and Rose De Damas, rare and precious limited edition French bubbles. The aperitif was accompanied by the music of Alessandro Martire, renowned pianist with breathtaking performances in natural and urban settings sought after around the world.

The dinner in the Ballroom was prepared by Chef Massimiliano Alajmo, 3 Michelin stars, the youngest chef in the world to achieve this prestigious recognition at only 28 years old, also present with his restaurants in Sermerola di Rubano (PD) with Le Calandre, in Venice, in Paris and in Marrakech with the Royal Mansour.

Marco Traverso & Histoires d’Ours made the atmosphere unique with its floral centerpieces, which the evening’s guests were able to purchase with a donation to benefit the children with disabilities housed in the Little Angels Home in Haiti.

The dinner was accompanied by a fine selection of wines from the Masciarelli Agricultural Estates, including Villa Gemma Abruzzo Bianco DOC, with fruity and mineral notes, aromatic herbs and tropical fruits; Gianni Masciarelli Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC, made from 100% Montepulciano grapes from vineyards in Loreto Aprutino, characterized by a bright cherry red color and intense aromas; and Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC Riserva, an intense, rich and consistent wine vinified and aged in barrels. Finally, Vendanges Tardives 2020 – Château Imperial Tokaj, from Gianni’s Selection line, was served with dessert.

For the evening, Valverde donated the slightly mineralized water that flows from the foothills of Monte Rosa, a pristine area and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Finally, Pasticceria Riviera enchanted guests with a fabulous cake to celebrate the arrival of the Francesca Rava Foundation in Monaco.

Guests enjoyed the performance of live dance by Alessandro Ristori & the Portofinos, a nationally and internationally renowned band with its irresistible 50s and 60s rock, and dancers to liven up the evening, which was also attended by the Hellenic Community of Monaco, with the President Sophia Vaharis Tsouvelekakis, who offered special Greek cocktails made with ouzo and tsipouro at the open bar.

The event continued with an auction organized by Artcurial Auction House, with a selection of design objects, works of art and unique and exclusive experiences, such as the fabulous dinner at the Quadri di Venezia, the Doge’s Ball in Venice, and with a silent auction organized by Givergy, with numerous prizes, some of them offered by the greatest sports champions, including Nadal, Musetti, Totti and Verratti, or by the most important Italian fashion houses.

In the words of President Mariavittoria Rava: “The Francesca Rava Foundation has committed itself to the organization of this evening with determination and love not only to provide concrete help to many children in dire need in Haiti, Italy and around the world, but also to convey the values related to social and environmental sustainability, which inspire all our projects. I would like to thank the Italian Embassy in Monaco and the institutions present at the event, the companies that with their excellence are at our side to share this unforgettable Gala, our wonderful young volunteers, donors, friends and all those who support us. To bring lasting and concrete change in the lives of those who need it most, it is not enough to do good, but it must be done in the best way possible: this is the philosophy of the Francesca Rava Foundation; because even good requires excellence”.
