Celebrating ocean conservation with SeaKeeper of the year Guy Harvey.
The International SeaKeepers Society (SeaKeepers) is thrilled to announce its Annual Founders Event, which will take place on Thursday, October 31st, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. This prestigious event, of which Excellence Magazine is a media partner, is held during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) and brings together ocean conservationists, scientists, yachting enthusiasts, and innovators who share a common passion for protecting the world’s oceans.
The evening will honor Guy Harvey as the 2024 SeaKeeper of the Year in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to marine science, conservation, and education. Dr. Harvey, a world-renowned marine wildlife artist, scientist, and conservationist, has spent decades promoting sustainable fishing practices and ocean conservation through his art and scientific initiatives.
In addition to honoring Guy Harvey as SeaKeeper of the Year, the evening will recognize Dr. Shireen Rahimi, a filmmaker, marine scientist, and passionate ocean advocate, for her groundbreaking work in shark conservation and marine ecosystem health. The event will feature inspiring speakers, presentations on critical ocean issues, live entertainment, and dinner, offering guests a unique opportunity to connect with leaders in ocean conservation.
The Annual Founders Event serves as a critical fundraiser to support The International SeaKeepers Society’s mission of promoting oceanographic research, conservation, and education. This year’s event underscores the importance of community engagement in the effort to protect marine ecosystems and combat environmental challenges.
